Zapier

Bundles the Zapier connector (thousands of app actions, but only the ones you enable in your own Zapier MCP server) with Zapier Automation Blueprint (turns one real business process into the exact action list to enable, read vs. write labeled, with a mandatory approval gate before anything sends or changes a system), so 'automate this one step' doesn't turn into an open-ended integration.

When to use

  • You want to automate one real step across the apps you already use (CRM, spreadsheet, Slack, email) with Zapier, but don't want to hand the agent a wide-open Zapier account.
  • You already have, or are setting up, a Zapier MCP server at mcp.zapier.com and need to decide exactly which app actions to enable for one process — not everything "just in case."
  • You want a plan that's tested on one record before it touches real customer data.

What it does

Bundles two pieces that solve opposite halves of the same risk:

  • Zapier (the connector) is the bridge to the thousands of apps you already use — Gmail, Google Sheets, Slack, your CRM — but only the actions you explicitly enable in your own Zapier MCP dashboard are reachable, nothing more.
  • Zapier Automation Blueprint (the skill) turns one described process into the exact numbered list of actions to enable, splits them into read (safe to run freely) vs. write (gated), and always closes with an approval gate before anything sends, publishes, or changes a real system — plus a one-record test plan before running it at volume.

A real example: you want new leads from a form to land in your CRM with a follow-up task, without opening the door to "the agent can do anything in my Zapier account." You describe the process; Zapier Automation Blueprint hands back the exact actions to enable ("CRM: create contact," "Tasks: create task") and marks which ones need your review before they fire. You enable only those in mcp.zapier.com, and the connector is what actually calls them.

How to use

  1. Describe the one process you want automated: the trigger, the systems involved, and what should happen.
  2. Ask for the blueprint — get back the exact action list, the read/write split, and a readiness score with the single next step if something's still missing.
  3. Enable only those actions in your Zapier MCP dashboard, test on one record, review anything marked "confirm before running," then let it run at volume.

Why the bundle works

Zapier alone is powerful but general-purpose — it's on you to figure out which of the thousands of actions to expose, and an unscoped setup is exactly the risk the skill exists to prevent. Zapier Automation Blueprint alone has no way to run anything without a live Zapier connection. Together: the skill designs the narrow, tested blueprint; the connector is what executes only the actions you decided to enable.

Limits

  • Doesn't have access to your Zapier account or know what you've already enabled unless you say so — it designs the blueprint, you configure Zapier for real.
  • Doesn't skip the approval gate for anything that sends, publishes, or edits a real system — that's built into the skill's output, not a setting you can turn off.
  • Each action that actually runs still consumes tasks from your existing Zapier plan.
